Peter - Opal WorkbenchOur opal jewelry was born from inspiration of seeing the magnificent Australian Black Opal Gem as it appears when newly mined, then gently removed from it's home in the earth....

Seeing for the very first time it's beautiful blazing colors in stark contrast to it's natural black opal base surround, was for me a breathtaking experience!

Welcome, my name is Peter....I am a Professional Opal Cutter with over 35 years expertise & knowledge of Opals.

My dream has been to recreate the visual splendour of those brilliant black opal colors and share that vision. The result....?

Over a long period of time that dream became reality with "Opals On Black" - the recreation of the beauty and fire of ourGem Opal Pendant Australian Black Opal that could be shared with others .... but, in an affordable way !


Our Opal Jewelry  is created by using 100% Natural Australian Opal, and where required, sculpturing & marrying it to one of the differing mediums of  Black Jade,Gem Onyx, Snowflake Obsidian or black Leadlight Glass. 

This black contrast surround showcases & highlights the opal colours to their full & vivid glory!

With the utmost care and attention to detail each opal piece is then cut, shaped, polished & finished into a stunning world-class Opals On Black item.

Bonding of opal to glass (or a Gemstone backing) is achieved by a unique blending of five different industrial strength compounds giving rise to an incredibly strong,durable and cohesive bonding compound, second to none.
