A beautiful Lightning Ridge Genuine Black Gem Opal Bead, full of rich deep emerald greens with tints of gold & blue. (The camera shows more blue than that seen with the naked eye.) The piece of black opal itself weighs 2 carats with a body thickness of 1.7mm - which prompted me to create a fuller bodied bead by bonding this gem black opal to a natural black opal basestone from the same opal mine, thereby having perfectly matching base tones and body. A stunner!
